Chrysalis is a community-focused gallery.
After many years of building up the local art community through volunteer work, Denny Carman created Chrysalis Gallery to be a mutually supportive place for artists to grow.
“I’m not opening this new location, so I can make a lot of money off our local talent,” explains Denny. “That has never been my goal all these years.
“My focus has always been and will always be, to bring art to everyone. I love helping our artists. Helping children, the disabled and veterans, through the arts, is my passion.”
In addition to featuring established artists and solo shows, the gallery also features up-and-coming artists. And “artists” is broadly defined as anyone who makes something beautiful.
About Denny
I got involved in painting and working in the arts, after I was injured years back, and lost my career. When I started showing my art, I got help and support from one of our local artists. She helped me a great deal, so I decided years back, that I would do all I can, to help my fellow artists to move forward in our art community.
I'm devoted to helping the art community and especially children, those with disabilities, and veterans. Art is very important, and it is a way for people to express what they go through and have gone through. I am always available to help all artists.
I'm a past Spokane Arts Commissioner, I'm the past Resource Manager for Art Chowder Magazine, I'm a Board Member at Spokane Valley Arts Council, I served 2 terms as President of River Ridge Association of Fine Arts, I'm the Co-Founder of C.H.A.R.T.S.,which stands for Child Humanitarian Arts, I help Artists to get their work out around the community, I am an event organizer, and I received the 2018 Leadership Award, at the Spokane Arts Awards. This is a portion of what I do.
